The name itself encapsulates this powerful blend of boxer engine and classic roadster configuration. With its low centre of gravity at the heart of the car, the mid-engine layout is fundamental to the inherent agility and responsiveness of the Boxster concept. The flat-six engines in the Boxster and Boxster S are identical in design, differing only in capacity and output. Gearbox and chassis are then shaped around this core to provide optimum performance and handling. Ingeniously simple on paper. Even better on the road.
