Porsche 911 Supersport Targa

In stock now is this lovely Porsche 911 Supersport Targa. A 1986 car it has done just 75,543 miles from new. This car is finished in a beautiful mid blue metallic, not too dissimilar to Horizon Blue, called Iris Blue metallic, but not to be confused with the later Iris Blue used on the 993 which is a much darker navy blue. This was a special order colour. The interior is pinstriped cloth with blue dashboard etc.

The Turbo look code, 491, means the car left the factory with the turbo style wide arches, rear spoiler and wheels making it very rare and not to be confused with cars converted to turbo arches aftermarket. This option was not just cosmetic, the turbo look package included cross-drilled turbo brakes and suspension. These cars were designated SuperSport Equipment. A mere 75 were produced in RHD out of a worldwide production of around 250 making this a very desirable, sought after car.

A beautiful documented service history is present including a ringbinder of old MOTs, invoices, old tax disks etc, exactly what one likes to see in a history file. There is even a pristine copy of the original sales brochure for the 911 3.2 Carrera preserved in a polythene slipcase.

The 3.2 Carrera is regarded as the definitive development of the original 911 that first appeared in 1963 before the evolution to Type 964. These ‘last of cars’ were the most tractable and usable of Butzi Porsche’s original design. The all-alloy, flat-6, fuel injected engine received a final displacement of 3.2 litres developing a torquey 231hp – enough to thrust the slippery new Carrera from 0-100 km/h in just 5.6 seconds. One of the most collectable 911’s on the market is the 3.2 Carrera Supersport or factory optioned Widebody, produced from 1984 through to 1989. This car has being cherished by it’s previous keeper and as you can see clearly.
