Hi,
I hope someone sees this as I can't see any other messages!
Anyway, I recently traded in my Boxster S for a 1999 996 C2 coupe. I got it from a main dealer(Arlingtons of Northhampton) although originally it came from Belgium (looking at the log book) and is a C16 import.
Question 1) : Is there any downside to having an import?
The spec of my car is as follows :
C2 manual, sunroof, cruise, onboard computer, 3 spoke steering wheel, 18" turbo look wheels, traction control, rear wiper, cdr-22 & storage.
Question 2) What would the car have had as standard? That is, what of the above are cost options?
I've only had the car a short time but I love it, and I do prefer it to the Boxster(although I loved that as well).
Thanks for your help,
Steve (UK, Pembs)

message to steve douglas.
hi steve good to hear from someone out there.
your 996 sounds like a nice car.
your question in relation to it been an import is somewhat of a personal choice, i feel that they get better spec cars and also the bonus with an import is that you can normally get immediate delivery of a rare car.
sometimes imports are valued at less but not always.
your spec list is a good one the only item standard on the whole list is the rear wiper everything else is an option.
please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
are you a zymol user, most porsche owners are but there are a few who are yet to hear about the product.
