In Stock Now, LHD, Restored

This lovely early 911 is a 1969 car, one of the B series of cars which had been launched back in 1964. Originally from the US (you can tell by the chromed headlight surrounds) it has been fully restored by ourselves including a full engine rebuild with new parts including pistons, rings, valve guides, valves etc. RS style front and rear bumpers and an RS style ducktail rear spoiler were fitted. The car was fully repainted and the interior retrimmed to a very high standard with the inclusion of period style sports seats with Sabelt harnesses with quick release buckles which offer support but are easier to live with day to day than conventional harness buckles. All in all a lot of work but it was worth it, the result is a very special car which draws attention from Porsche fans when we exhibit at shows and drives very well.

Introduced in September 1969, the B-series 911's all featured a wheelbase stretched by 57mm in an attempt to cure the earlier cars tendency for dramatic oversteer on the limit. By moving the rear wheels backwards but leaving the engine and gearbox in their original positions, Porsche were able to make the new car almost visually indistinguishable from the old. Every B-series 911 was equipped with larger brake calipers, the S and newly re-named E (replacing the L) getting mechanical Bosch fuel injection for the first time (in place of Weber carbs). The E took its name from Einspritzung, German for fuel injection. Thanks to QV500.com
