We are delighted to offer this show standard, rare Citroen DS19 Pallas onto the market for the very first time in the U.K. The Citroen DS revolutionised the car industry and gained the title of ‘The Car of the Twentieth Century’ and is the only motor car exposed in the Louvre as a work of art. This beautiful example is the first of all Pallas versions, a very sought after model that are rarely found in this condition.

This matching numbers car was purchased by the last owner in 2011 having searched the country looking at several examples that has been subject of restoration work. Having being disappointed looking at many smart looking examples that did not meet expectations in the detail, this particular classic car enthusiast and collector travelled to Porto to view this particular car. Having had a reported 60,000 euros spent on genuine Citroen parts, plus hundreds of hour of labour, the car was purchased with no hesitation once the Portuguese former owner arrived at a hotel to allow the buyer to inspect the car. This Pallas was presented in show condition, money was transferred and several days later the Citroen was driven 900 faultless miles from Porto to North Yorkshire. Over the past four years this Pallas has not been driven in wet weather, has been dry stored and used very occasionally over summer months.

The Pallas was subject of a no expense spared restoration, the body was stripped down and re-painted in its correct colour of Blanc Carrare. The body and paint many years on since the rebuild are first class. The interior was totally re-trimmed in the correct Rouge Carmin Jersey Rhovyline fabric with white leatherette. The car prior to rebuild was in a very sound, solid condition giving an ideal base for a restoration. Around 90% of new original parts by certified professionals and experts of this marque were purchased and the engine was rebuild piece by piece, as was the gearbox, clutch, brakes, suspension and entire hydraulic circuit. Galvanised screws were even used and the chassis was treated with high quality protection. A premium price was paid for correct original sidelight chrome and rare correct hub caps were sourced at huge expense. New genuine parts included headlamps, rear lights, full stainless steel exhaust, suspension tubes, radiator, water pump, all pipe work and rubbers, rear window shade and much more.

This Citroen DS19 is truly outstanding and is without the doubt one of the very best in the UK. The car has nicely aged since restoration and today presents superbly in every respect. The underside of the car is pristine, the inner wings and inner arches are outstanding, the panels are perfectly straight and the paint finish is of a very high standard. The chrome work is excellent, tyres are like new and the interior is quite simply fantastic and has been trimmed to a very high standard at substantial cost. On the road the Pallas cruisers wonderfully and is comfortable at 70mph. The hydraulic system works superbly and the car is an absolute delight to drive. Top class examples are hard to find and this Pallas is a real collectors piece, a car for the discerning buyer.
